Hobbies go right on up there with this indecision of mine. I mean there are so many out there and like I said before with my lack of time these days it's gotta be something I truly enjoy doing. Not just that though, hobbies are downright expensive. I mean sure it's fun but to factor all the supplies in is costly. How do people afford this? I took my first trip to Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago when my parents were visiting and although I loved the place, I was downright perplexed with the sheer size of that store. I was so surprised given the well, boringness and plain exterior. Once I got inside though aisles and aisles of lace, ribbons, wood, tools, flowers, you name it where at my beck and call. I thought Michaels or Jo-Ann were enough, but this is like a Michaels on crack, but I suppose in a good way.Since I've moved I've had a whole new world opened up to me on so many levels, but especially meeting some new ladies with hobbies. Jewelry making, scrapbooking, card making, book clubs, the list goes on and on sheesh whiz.
One of the lovely new ladies I've met though has me intrigued by her home Stampin Up business.

I think it unleashed my inner Martha Stewart that was hiding deep down. We made some handmade greeting cards and by golly I actually did it. Granted they were far from perfect, but they were adorable and now I'm dying to try it again. The stuff on this website is freaking cute and has me itching to celebrate a birthday, holiday or just say thank you to someone, anyone.

Does anybody out there have a hobby to share? How do you afford all the supplies? I think I may go into debt just looking at the cuteness that is this site.

I sew / make quilts! Although sometimes you would think my hobby is just 'collecting fabric' haha!
I have always wanted to go to Hobby Lobby!!
I want to learn how to knit. My mom makes so many fabulous things knitting. Heck, I would even like to learn how to sew and use a sewing machine!
I couldn't pick just one either I sew, do a little scrapbooking, but I guess my main hobby is cake decorating :) I support my little habit by making money teaching classes on the very thing I love the most. BTW you think it's bad just going to Hobby Lobby try being there at least twice a week. Hobby Lobby is where I teach my cake classes :)
Having a hobby is great and a curse at the same time haha. For me I wait until things are on sale or I have a coupon. I also have a "hobby" budget a month. Once I spend that allotted amount I'm done. That helps.
Yes, having a hobby is expensive, but it's worth it. It's nice to have that release and creative outlet.
Let me know what you choose!
I love doing redo projects on old furniture. I mainly just buy pieces at yard sales/flea markets, and paint it myself. It's fun! :) And yes, there are SO many hobbies out there, it's hard to choose what to learn!!
If you like making stationary, maybe you should try swapping! I collect postcards from all over the world now and send packages to strangers. Look at Swap-bot.com. I guess this qualifies as a hobby.
I love love love to make cards too! I recently made my sister a birthday card! I have always loved scrapbooking and I have recently begun to use those supplies to also make cards. I love it! I also love to read. My sister and I have really gotten into baking recently. We always put our recipes on our blog.
I know a lot of people who are involved with Stampin' Up. I've tried to get into it, but I just don't have the patience! Honestly, I consider my hobby to be blogging :-) It's the only hobby I've really been able to stick with! haha
I make jewelry & both my husband & I like to paint. We both went to art school, so we have a ton of supplies left from those days, but we used to spend just as much money on art supplies as other students spend on books!! Everything that I buy now is usually for jewelry making, and it can get pricey. I usually sell my stuff on Etsy or at craft fairs & you can usually break even that way, if you keep quite a bit of the goods for yourself. I don't really care about making a profit, I just like to experiment and then end up with way too many pieces, so it's nice to be able to sell them and at least make some money back!
Hobby Lobby is my absolute most favorite place on earth! I think I'm there more than I'm at home!
I consider blogging my hobby and heck it's free! :)
