Treats to Beat the Heat...

Okay so I've been running low on Fab Friday Finds for awhile now. I used to have more time to search the web for fun, useless stuff, but most of my computer time is now spent job searching so I think Fab Friday Finds will go on hiatus for awhile. If something strikes my fancy that I just have to share then share it I will, but for today sorry I've got nothing.

So now that I live in FL this CA girl has had to adapt to this little thing here called HUMIDITY!! It's rough, it messes with your hair, you're just plain sweaty, and you want to keep your makeup to a minimum (not that I wear all that much anyway), but you get the idea. Up until this point I have rarely seen humidity other than our honeymoon and occasional vacations in the past. Southern CA is dry, dessert dry so this is still taking some adjusting.

Anyway I've come up with snacks to keep me hydrated and cool to beat this heat that I'd like to pass along most of it's common, but I thought I could help some of you out too.

1.) Frozen grapes-they're even more fun if you alternate colors and put them on sticks like this before you freeze them:

2.) Smoothies! I'll take them anyway, store-bought ala Smoothie King or Tropical Smoothie Cafe out here (sadly I no longer have jamba juice where we live) or we'll whip them up in our own blender with protein, yogurt, and sometimes ice cream.

3.) Otter Pop-like frozen treats-so what if they're supposed to be for kids? I have a new-old love for them. I hadn't bought them for the longest time, but hubs brought them home one day and after giving him a crazy look I ate one. Oh memories. I found a warheads variety for $1.00 for a pack of 16 at walmart!

4.) Banana Pops-you can make your own or buy them like me. It makes me feel somewhat good because at least I know there's fruit in there.

5.) A yummy ice cold fruit salad. So easy to make and yes healthy too!

6.) Root Beer Floats-summer just wouldn't be without one of these.

7.) Luigi's Italian Ice-kind of like an Icee for adults yum.

So these are some of my survive the summer treats. What are yours?

I love frozen grapes! So do my dogs, but I can't give them to them anymore. I am going to have to try those banana pops!

I love banana pops! My tip for beating the Southern humidity is just to stay indoors!

These treats sound SO yummy - especially the banana pops!! I've never had frozen grapes either. Do they hurt your teeth when you bite into them from being too cold?
