Let's see I've still been job searching. I thought about the hostessing temp job for a long while that I was given and realized it was not in our best interest for me to keep that job. There were a variety of reasons why. 1) There's a toll I would need to pay to cross a bridge to get to that job everytime, 2)there was a week of training beginning right smack from the first day my parents are coming to visit to their last day they are here, so I would have no time to spend with them, 3)I would probably not see my hubs as much anymore, he would leave and I'd be home, then I'd leave and he'd be home. 4) I'd have to work weekends/some holidays, and the pay was 5)awful. Taking all this into account this job just wasn't for me.
I have signed up with a couple of staffing places since I haven't had much luck. Nothing yet, but every finger is crossed that something happens soon of course. I've also become a big fan of our local library which for those of you that can remember awhile back, I finally managed to find without getting lost. This library is prettty big and has tons of newly released novels so I've been catching up on some reading. I'm still involved in my new church, which has lead to meeting all sorts of fun people our age. In fact I was so happy to meet a new friend who just moved here from San Diego, 3 weeks ago, who happens to live next door! Yeah can you believe that? We both decided to go to a Women's Bible Study and we started talking and found out we live not only in the same apartment complex, but in the building next to me. Yeah talk about crazy. Like me, the military brought her out here with her husband. Military is a common factor of this city so it's awesome when hubs and I meet people that are in the same boat as us.
Other than that, not too much exciting has happened. My parents are flying in to visit from CA today woo! I'm so excited. This will be their first time out here and I miss them soo much. Hubs and I can't wait to show them all around our new digs. Hopefully the oil spill that's the talk of the nation won't get them down. Yes that oil spill is affecting this area in a big way! I haven't seen any oil myself yet, but I hear it's out there. It's so sad how many people have been affected by the oil. Businesses and families of every kind are struggling and BP is being sued by so many. It's really devastating and I think everyone is still in shock that this is still an issue. We're all just wishing and praying something is resolved and soon.
On another note, seeing as New Orleans is only about 4hrs away from us, and I'm not working at the moment, my parents, me and hopefully hubs depending on work are going to take a trip out there for a few days towards the end of their time here. I can't wait, I've never been and am looking forward to seeing some of this. It's the real deal, not Disney haha:
